A Poem for My Lassie

Some delicious thoughts

Some of my readers will know that on August 24th this year, I married the most beautiful woman I could ever imagine. She is one incredible human being with so many extraordinary qualities, not least a huge heart that beats for humanity. I have never been so in love. I have never felt so loved. It is such a beautiful thing that I wish for every person.

Often I find myself thinking of her, feeling our connections, and the words just come. The following poem flowed out in less than 4 minutes. I felt that it would be sweet to share it.

My Lassie

Is she a Rose,

So beautiful to the eye

Or is she an Eagle,

Seeing all from way up on high

Perhaps she is a Panda

So playful I don’t know why

Or even a Momma Bear

Touch her kids, don’t you try

Could she be an Albatross,

It is so true how she can fly

Or a wild, galloping Pony

A magnificence that could make you cry

Maybe an Apparition

A vision you cannot deny

Or the clue could be Orca

So gracefully gliding by

Even a Giant Sequoia

Whose mere presence makes you sigh

This lady is everything

In which beauty may be defined

A magical essence of the ether

An elegance so refined.

She is an evolution of perfection

Through so many a brilliant form,

A warm morning sunshine

And a captivating tropical storm.

Never doubt the courage

That lay beyond that beautiful veil

She is an Angel of loving wonder

On a quest that can never fail

So, when you glimpse her walking by

And you wonder who you see,

Know the Eagle, Pony and Orca

Keep her spirit bold and free.
